Last Saturday, we hosted a social media training day for religious sisters and brothers, organised by the Vocations Forum of the Conference for Religious of Scotland (CRS). One of the main aim of the Vocations Forum was to make the Religious of Scotland more visible. As part of the training day, to prove how effective facebook can be, Louise (who did some of the training) took a group selfie and posted it onto the Vocation Scotland facebook page, asking people to like and comment so that we could see how far it went and how quickly. By the time we had finished our meeting 90 minutes later, it had already reached 5000+ people in places as diverse as Virginia and New York in the USA, Perth in Western Australia and Vietnam – not to mention many people much closer to home.
