The 4th St. Margaret’s National Pilgrimage will take place on Sunday 3rd June 2018.
Visit sites from 11am, procession starts at 2:15 pm (gather at 1:45), concluding with Mass at 3pm St Margaret’s Memorial Church.
Religious and historical sites within Dunfermline will be available to visit from 11am, (with the exception of Dunfermline Abbey, due to a religious service at 11am.) although the Abbey grounds will be open, access to the Abbey will be unavailable until after conclusion of the service. Stewards will be in attendance at St Margaret’s Shrine situated on the east side of the Abbey from 11am, to provide information and directions to pilgrims. Stewards will also be in attendance outside St. Margaret’s Cave from 11am. Guides will be located within Pittencrieff Park, at the Louise Carnegie Gates, (main gates at Bridge Street access), to provide tours for pilgrims commencing at 11am and then every 30 minutes thereafter.
PILGRIMAGE PROCESSION
Pilgrims taking part in the procession should arrive to form up at the Louise Carnegie Gates, (main gates), Bridge Street, Dunfermline from 1.45pm. The procession will commence at 2.15pm prompt, led by His Grace Archbishop Cushley, and will process through Dunfermline town centre to St Margaret’s Memorial Church for a celebration Mass. Stewards will be in attendance to form the procession order. Please be guided by the stewards in forming and undertaking the procession. Officers from Police Scotland, Fife Division, will undertake traffic management.
