The title of this post I borrowed from a writer from The Catholic Herald, and it may seem a bit strange. However as well as trying to help pregnant women who have crisis pregnancies, we also reach out to women who have had an abortion and are looking for help. The following article, http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/commentandblogs/2015/09/04/dorothy-day-is-the-perfect-role-model-for-post-abortion-women/ shows us that it is possible for a woman to have an abortion and bitterly regret it for the rest of her life but find forgiveness and love and most importantly, find peace. If you have heard a woman talk about her abortion you will know that this peace is very difficult to find after an abortion experience. Dorothy Day is a woman we can look to in the upcoming Year of Mercy, starting on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and encourage post-abortive women to turn to God for forgiveness and compassion.
